Vecchia Murano Glass Factory In the very heart of Venice, just a few yards from Piazza S. Marco and right behind the Bridge of Sighs, is one of the lagoon’s biggest and most famous artistic glass factory: “Vecchia Murano”. On entering the elegant palace with its ancient wall, one has the feeling of being fully immersed in the atmosphere of olden times. Vecchia Murano in over fourty years of experience has been awarded not only with national awards but also with the World Prize “ Ercole d’Oro” in 1989, the Gold Medal from “Ente Provinciale per il Turismo di Roma” (Provincial Institution for the Tourism in Rome), and has been acknowledged by the Institution for the Defence of the typical Venetian product.
